Region Hack Samsung Bd C6500 Remote
That is very strange - I have the BD-P1620 player and I was also updated to: BEv2.17_110525_XEF There is a difference in the firmware - your update is BEv2.17_110525A_XEF and the letter 'A' after the date may be the reason the hack does not work for me and works for you. Are you sure about the 'A' letter - I just checked the official Samsung UK support site for P1600 and the firmware version is without 'A' - BEv2.17_110525_XEF Could you please describe step by step the hacking process you apply - there are many versions and I really do not know which works for our players. Thanks in advance! I too bought the BD6500 from John Lewis and have also given up after numerous attempts. In exasperation I have now purchased a Sony Blue ray 580 player from Sevenoaks who have it on offer for £159 at the moment. It's not as well built or styled as the Samsung but Sevenoaks unlocked it on the spot so unless I can find a solution very quickly I will return the Samsung. A shame really because I really loved the player - just thing Samsung are daft not to make hacks more readily available - they must be losing a lot of sales.
Make Samsung BD- C5. Region code hack posted by scottieuk, July 0. Credit for this hack goes to RABSP, although I've modified. I used it on my brand new Samsung BD- 1. Install Ilbc Codec Asterisk Definition. My unit is a Region 2 (UK) machine. Press the POWER button on the remote to turn on the machine (no disc in the tray).
Given that Sevenoaks have a programmable remote with lots of different hack macros programmed in I wonder if John Lewis can do the same if asked? Maybe worth a try. Sadly I have had to return the Samsung. I spoke to John Lewis who don't do unlocking. Download Free Microxp V0 82 Experience Isolation on this page. In short the Samsung is better built, nicer to operate, better styled and cheaper but the Sony gives me what I want: Wireless internet, all region DVD, Blue ray, BBC Iplayer, Lovefilm. I really do think that this is a very questionable stance by Samsung. From the posts on this forum it is clear that people want all region DVD capability and while it may not be legal to manufacture it like that it makes sense for a manufacturer to make the hack codes to multiregion enable easy and simple to implement to maximise sales.
The irony isn't lost on me that Sony own one of the largest movie studios and distributors, Samsung don't, yet it is Samsung who are being anal about a law designed to support the revenue maximisation of the movie studios. If you want simple to hack multiregion it looks like Sony and Philips are your only choice. Makes no sense to me.
