Takes maybe 5-6 hours & it will vastly improve what you can do. • These are awesome tools, learn how to use them: - - - - - - - - I wish I would have been into this stuff when I was 16. Also, don't take out loans for college. If you have to take out loans, don't go. Everything you learn in school you can find for free online, & the most useful skills like SEO & social media, you can't learn in almost any school. The more you know, the more you know that you don't know. I was a genius when I was 16 just like everyone else here likely was.
Great ideas and incredible motivation. So what you do, is take those ideas and use your motivation and actually make them a reality. What are your options? What does that even mean. Both your questions are pretty unanswerable. I guess your idea is to make websites for people or do video editing? Well, those are both possible businesses.
Are you skilled at these things or these are just ideas you came up with? I'm only 21 myself, but if I was your age I would learn some code, read a lot of business books and blogs, and get some side gigs going. Craigslist and eBay is an amazing way to learn some business sense. That's how I got started young and probably many others here too.
Then, when you get an idea that is actually good, build it. Kobyc is right about the power of social media, but you can't do that without a target audience, so this is too early. Also, knowing to code is powerful, but knowing when to hire specialists of any kind is a good thing. Hey man, I'm 16 years old and I'm learning iOS Development. Hopefully looking to build some pretty cool apps that will generate some nice revenue. I also build Wordpress websites on the side for small businesses.
I also just built this account, so hopefully I'll take some clever marketing techniques I've learned and build up the following base. This summer I'm going to have my mom file for a s-corp, so I can start my company. Look out for my company 'Alien Labs'! I suggest you look into things like learning how to build iPhone or Android Apps, also I would check out Web Development. Codecademy.com will get you started on the fundamentals of web development.
Check out udemy.com for their courses in iPhone and Android development, you'll learn a ton. And it's a wonderful asset in learning how to code. If you are in the USA, see if you can get put into a PSO program where you take your final 2 years of school at Community College and graduate with a 2 year degree. Keep getting your Math, Science and English skills as high as you can while there. With everything else, take business classes.
If web design interests you, pick up a highly rated CSS and HTML book from Amazon (or find out what it is and get it at the library). Practice by making a website for something that interests you. Once it's finished, you've got something to refer to and you can start doing freelance web design. At your age, don't bother registering a business, just do whatever jobs you can. Also, NEVER hand over the finished code/project until you're paid.
Just let them view it on your own private server. It's totally worth it!
